FICTION
Book title : Hunger
Author: Knut Hamsun
Date published: 1890
List three adjectives that describe this book
Dark Confusing Disturbing
What is the book about? (write at least three sentences)
This book is about a Norwegian artist’s slow descent into madness. He slowly over time begins to lose his sanity and is still on the streets. Each chapter, he goes more and more insane but is rescued by the kind will of some stranger.
What was good about the book?
This book kept me engaged and interested the entire way through.
What was challenging about the book?
It is difficult understanding sometimes what the author is trying to say. Some of the comparisons are strange and it can be difficult to follow sometimes.
Would you recommend the book? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book for somebody to read on their own, but not for this project. There is much more focus on the character’s feelings rather than Norway and the people around him.
