What is the film about? (write at least three sentences)
Life is beautiful, begins a love story between a Jewish man, Guido and a Christian
women, Dora in Italy. As the holocaust is in full swing, Guido and his son Joshua are
taken by Nazis and sent to a concentration camp, Dora a Christian women“enrolls”
herself into the concentration camp and joins her husband and son. The concentration
camp is separated from males and females so Dora doesn’t get to see her family. Guido
tells Joshua that the concentration camp is a game, and that if you follow all of the rules
you receive a real life tank as a prize. Guido uses his wonderful humor to help preserve
the innocence of his son. Sadly Guido is killed trying to put a smile on his sons face, but
Dora and Joshua survive.
What was good about the film?
The film was very well directed and had terrific actors and actresses. The movie was
humorous but also very saddening, it will truly make you appreciate family and the life
you have.
Would you recommend the film? Why or why not?
I would recommend the film. It was an amazing film that made me laugh and cry, and I
truly did enjoy watching it.

I watched the movie "Life is Beautiful". It is an Italian film that was later released in America. It was directed by Roberto Begnini. The movie was released on October 23rd, 1998. Three adjectives i would use to describe this film is informative, historical, and horrific. The film is about an Italian jew who is taken away to a concentration camp along with his young son and wife. The film shows a very interesting prospective from the holocaust and life during WWII. I would recommend this film in e heart beat because it is a very interesting concept for a film and it is very informative.

a love story and a tragedy. Guido falls in love with Dora, a beautiful Italian woman.
After they are married and have a son, Joshua, Guido and Joshua are sent to a death
camp because of their Jewish decent. Guido must keep himself and his son alive while
simultaneously keeping the truth about their bleak situation from Joshua so that Joshua
will not grow up bitter and full of hatred.
What was good about the film?
This movie shows a different side of the typical Holocaust story and shows that (as the
title says) life is indeed beautiful, even in the worst places.

The story takes place right after World War II and it is very hard to find jobs. In order for
Antonio to have this job he must have a bicycle. His family could not afford a bike, but he
needed the job. In order to buy the bike his wife sold some of her sheets. The bike was stolen
soon after it was purchased so Antonio and his son Bruno traveled across Italy to find it.
What was good about the film?
The film taught a lot about the culture of Italy and how hard the times were after the War. The
film showed the role of women during this time, the jobs that were available, and the kind of
food that was eaten.
Would you recommend the film? Why or why not?
I would recommend this film because culturally it teaches a lot. The only difficult part about
the film is that it is in Italian with English subtitles. The film has a great plot and it was very
interesting to watch.
