List three adjectives that describe this book
Intriguing, heart wrenching, exciting
What is the book about? (write at least three sentences)
This book is about World War II in London, England. The story follows the lives of two sisters, Emmy and Julia Downtree during the evacuation of children from London during the reign of the German Luftwaffe. Emmy is a determined fifteen-year-old when the novel commences with dreams of pursuing a job in the bridal industry. One simple decision changes the girl’s lives forever when they are separated during a bombing of the city. The story of their lives is incredibly compelling and displays the severity of the impact of war on children.
What was good about the book?
Yes, I really enjoyed the book and found if fascinating from start to finish.
What was challenging about the book?
The book occasionally switched on and off from the past and to the present when one of the sisters tells the story of her life during World War II, which could get slightly confusing at some points.
Would you recommend the book? Why or why not?
I would highly recommend this book because it highlighted a different perspective of war, that of a
teenager/young adult which was very fascinating.

FICTION
Book title _The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time_________
Author_____Mark Haddon____________________
Date published ____May, 2003____________
List three adjectives that describe this book
_____fascinating_________ ____unique_____________ __thought-provoking_____
What is the book about? (write at least three sentences)
The book is about a boy whom it is inferred he suffers from some sort of social impairment, named Christopher, that lives with his father. A dog belonging to the neighbor across the street is murdered and Christopher wishes to investigate who the killer is. In doing so, he talks to many neighbors and people that he’s never encountered before. Because of this, he asks questions he had never previously had the answer to, learns the truth about his supposedly dead mother, and trips over the line of where he feels stable.
What was good about the book?
What was good about the book was the writing style was very unique because it was in first person from Christopher, however it was him writing a journal entry, so you got that sort of personal feel. It was very easy to become engaged, and also the author gave many insights in the chapters where
Christopher indulged in simple facts like math and science.
What was challenging about the book?
The book was challenging only because sometimes it was confusing to follow in the order/chronologically that the author intended. However, I wouldn’t say it affected the experience too much.
Would you recommend the book? Why or why not?
I would recommend the book because I think it shares great insight, and also crafts a unique depiction of what life would really be like to have to take care of an impaired kid. It’s an easy, fast read and i believe any age group or type of person would enjoy it.
